TurboHawk™ Plaque Excision System

The TurboHawkTM Plaque Excision System is Covidien’s most advanced directional atherectomy platform to safely treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD) above and below the knee. The TurboHawk device maximizes lumen gain, preserves a patient’s native vessel, and keeps future treatment options open.

SELECT A CUTTER TO MEET PROCEDURAL NEEDS

HIGH EFFICIENCY (HE) CUTTER
Four contoured blades:
  • Engage and treat all plaque morphologies, including heavy calcium*
  • Remove more disease with each pass, maximizing lumen gain
  • Offer efficient cutting action vs. sanding or chipping tough calcified lesions

*
Large vessel catheters: When used in hard, complex calcified lesions the TurboHawk catheter should be paired with the SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device to mitigate the risk of distal embolization.
*Small vessel catheters: Do not use in hard, complex calcified lesions due to the risk of distal embolization that may result from excising this type of lesion.

SMOOTH CUTTER
  • Features convenient on-the-wire cleaning
  • Treats mild- to moderately-calcified plaque

DUAL CATHETER JOG
  • Ensures consistent cutter contact in a wide range of vessels
  • Reduces the need for multiple catheter use

DRIVE SHAFT
Advanced, counter-wound drive shaft:
  • Transmits power more efficiently to the contoured cutter blades
  • Transfers energy more efficiently and improves cutting performance
  • Permits smoother passes with less effort to cut through the lesion

MICRO EFFICIENT COMPRESSION (MEC™) TECHNOLOGY

Tiny, laser-drilled nosecone holes:
  • Increase tissue collection capacity, potentially reducing
procedure time and number of insertions

*Sheath Compatibility - Per the Instructions For Use, the medium vessel and large vessel devices are compatible with 8 F sheaths. A physician survey of device usage indicated 7 F sheaths may have an Internal Diameter (ID) that will accommodate the crossing profile of the LX–M and LS–M (non-flush tip) devices. Data on file with manufacturer.
1Working Length - distal end of strain relief to the distal end of tip.
2Effective Length - distal end of strain relief to the proximal end of cutter window.
The TurboHawk Peripheral Plaque Excision System is intended for use in the atherectomy of the peripheral vasculature. The TurboHawk catheter is NOT intended for use in the coronary, carotid, iliac, or renal vasculature.

The TurboHawk Catheter is indicated for use in conjunction with the SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device in the treatment of severely calcified lesions (LS-C and
LX-C only).
*Large vessel catheters: When used in hard, complex calcified lesions the TurboHawk catheter should be paired with the SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device to mitigate the risk of distal embolization.
Small vessel catheters: Do not use in hard, complex calcified lesions due to the risk of distal embolzation that may result from excising this type of lesion.

Indications, contraindications, warnings, and instructions for use can be found in the product labeling supplied with each device.
CAUTION: Federal (USA) law restricts these devices to sale by or on the order of a physician.
