Procedural Support
Guidwires are used to literally guide the various catheter-based products to the desired treatment location. They are often inserted into the patient through a small incision in the groin and then maneuvered through the various arteries and vessels to the clot or area of other vascular disease. Once in place, the catheter is threaded over the guidewire for treatment.
